Why can’t a girl just enjoy her stories?
I picked up some classics the other day, movies I’ve been wanting for a while now. Thanks to the great deals on DVDs at the local store it was too tempting to only browse.
My purchase included Terminator 2 and Aliens among others.
Aliens has been one of my favorite movies since I can remember. It might have something to do with having strong female characters, entertaining dialogue and tons of thrilling encounters with the acid-for-blood Aliens.
The sequel to Alien is definitely a lot more action packed. Ripley(Sigourney Weaver) wakes up from hyper sleep to discover she has been asleep for over 50 years after promising her daughter she would be home for her 11th birthday 
When communications are lost with the colony on LV 426, Ripley is invited to join the investigation team as an “Observer”. She reluctantly teams up with the Marines for the mission, and proves she is anything but a mere observer as she kicks some Alien Ass.
(Aliens are some pretty intelligent creatures, who even know how to use the elevator!! haha!)
Other than Ripley, my other favorite character is Private Vasquez(Jenette Goldstein). She was definitely an entertaining character. There were many jokes that revolved around her, but in the end she was truly the ultimate bad ass.
Interesting fact: Jenette Goldstein also starred in Terminator 2 as John Conner’s foster mom!!
I recently also checked out a store with some sweet figures from various movies and couldn’t leave without buying something. I decided to pick up some blocky Alien toys.
I plan to buy a few more until I collect Ripley and the Alien.
