Hahaha…
Oh it seems like ages since my last blog post. My apologies! Working and taking classes definitely takes up more time than I anticipated. Even video games have taken a back seat as I find I have less energy and time these days
But things will get better after one of my classes ends in the next few weeks (YAY!)
Now back to my story…
The other day one of my co-workers asked me if I’m excited for the next day (Oct 27th). I had to think for a moment because I have been so disconnected with video game news… He was referring to the release of DJ Hero, a Rhythm game released by Activision that is similar to Guitar Hero. DJ Hero (for the Wii, 360 and PS3) lets the player experience the thrill of scratchin’ beats on a turntable (plastic turntable controller). With over 100 songs and different playable DJ characters like DJ AM (who passed away in August), this game has been getting some good reviews.

But not everyone is impressed with the release of another Rhythm Game. The other two guys were like “what is wrong with people? why can’t they just practice on a *real* turntable?” They did make a good point though, there are some people who invest so much time playing Guitar hero and Rock Band that if they used that time to learn to play a real guitar or real instrument, they’d be awesome. One guy complained that it takes so long to set up and take down Rock band that maybe he should just be in a real band. But the funniest comment had to be, “What is the guy supposed to do? Serenade his girlfriend with the plastic guitar?? unplugged, it wouldn’t even make any music…how stupid would that be?” Hahaha
(the guy who said it actually plays Guitar and apparently, is also a romantic at heart because who still serenades their girlfriends under their bedroom windows??)
Plastic instruments or not, rhythm games have proven to be pure entertainment and DJ Hero sounds like it will fit right in.

Are you ready to be a DJ Hero?
