SE Asia Trip 2012 – Thai TV & Beach Day

Feb 23

Thai TV
This hotel doesn’t get good wifi…but there’s a TV!

Watched some Iron Chef Thailand, didn’t even know it existed. Most of the dishes had an Asian flare. The audience was also more into the action, cheering whenever a dish was completed.

MTV China played some Adele and Whitney Houston(RIP) videos.

There’s also a movie channel! Avatar was playing in Thai. And Transformers (live action movie) and one of the Narnia movies, prince caspian were in English.

I don’t have cable at home anymore, so it was interesting watching tv at the hotel. Plus some of the Thai commercials are hilarious!

There’s a Fridge too!
Never realized how useful a fridge could be until we had an ant problem! Everything had to be kept in ziplock bags, and we had to be careful about the crumbs. Now we can keep the cereal, bread & pb, safe from those pesky ants!

Cereal for bfast in my makeshift bowl lol!

The Beach day started off on North beach next to the Pier.

Notes:
- Everything’s 10-20 baht more near the pier. It’s better to buy stuff in town (like souvenirs, iced coffee or Thai pancakes)

Saw the ‘Jame Bond’ boat there again! There are 3 of them that I’ve counted!

Ended up sitting there for a bit, but it wasn’t that quiet with all the boats around.

Walked to a beach on the way to Long Beach instead. It was nice and quiet, perfect for a nap.

The tide was out so I walked to where it was deep enough to sit in the water. I looked around at where I was, taking in all the beauty of the area, and thought to myself, what a wonderful day!
